My training and further education

I am qualified. Dog psychologist & dog trainer ATN with BVET recognition. This means that thanks to my training, I am authorized by the Federal Veterinary Office (BVET) to issue the mandatory certificates of competence (SKN) to dog owners in Switzerland.

Unfortunately, the job title “dog trainer” is not protected in Switzerland and theoretically anyone can open a dog school without having any training. Therefore, be careful when choosing your dog school.

The training offered by the ATN Akademie für Tiernaturheilkunde AG is one of the most comprehensive that can currently be found on the Swiss market (duration approx. 2 years) and exceeds the requirements that the BVET places on the training centers.

Staying up to date and continuing your education is important. That's why, after the basic training, I also completed and passed the dog behavior consultant and dog science courses.

My highlights in 2012 were three seminars by Uwe Friedrich (known from the show “Dog, Cat, Mouse” on VOX) and a seminar by the Norwegian Turid Rugaas – a veteran in the dog-training industry. More to follow in 2013...
