I grew up with animals. There have always been cats in our family. Inevitably there were also injured birds every now and then, which I then tried to nurture. I also farmed snails as a child :) - much to my mother's annoyance. Over the years, gerbils and rats joined them. And of course no dog in our area was safe from me! It was and still is the happiest thing on earth to pet a cuddly four-legged friend, play with it and go for a walk!
Currently “only” Snowy lives with us – “only” because he needs as much patience, love and attention as many other animals combined. We got Snowy from the animal shelter at the beginning of January 2011 when she was 1 1/2 years old. He was afraid of everyone and everything. For example, we didn't have the chance to go to a restaurant, he was afraid of every approaching car, didn't climb stairs, didn't get into the car, etc. The first few weeks were already there 10 minutes of walks were pure stress for him - because Snowy was kept in a 2x2 m kennel in Italy (and therefore knew nothing) before a Swiss woman took pity and took him to Switzerland. Unfortunately, she then sent him to the animal shelter - probably because he was too strenuous. Lucky for us!
He has now learned a lot and has developed into a pleasant companion. He now loves going to restaurants because he always gets something delicious to chew. And it's fun to watch him rediscover the world every day.
By the way, according to DNA analysis, Snowy is a German Shepherd-German Shorthair Pointer-Afghan Greyhound-Shih Tzu mix :-)
Boccia is a Rottweiler-Appenzeller mix. With Boccia I was able to play 5 wonderful ones spend years. I was able to see her with the owners up to 4 times a week pick up and spent lovely walks with her. Despite her age of For almost 10 years she wanted to be challenged with search games and tricks. For It was a relief to their owners that I took care of boccia and For me it was a dream because I don't have time for it because of my 100% job had his own dog.
Boccia unfortunately passed away on March 23, 2012 - I miss her every day!!!!
